"Amber In The Clay" by Davie Gayle (Country Artist from Riverside County, California (CA))

If Emmylou Harris had ever decided to rock out in her career, then the result would have sounded something like Davie Gayle's latest record, "Amber In The Clay." With songs ranging from country to contemporary ballads, Gayle takes us for a trip down Americana lane and does not disappoint. Her pristine country vocals sound wonderful and emulate classic Dolly Parton, but still have an original feel to it. You can hear Gayle's sweet voice on songs like "Get Me" and "You Don't Say." Looking for the Americana feel? Look no further than the title track as it is a perfect listen for anyone who enjoyed Robert Plant/Alison Krauss's disc ("Raising Sand"). There are also some fine pedal steel guitar moments on this record, as heard on "3:09." If you are looking for that timeless female country vocal tone with a little rock 'n' roll under it, then this Davie Gayle's "Amber In The Clay" is for you.

"Each Lifetime Is A Voyage" by Howce Clemens (Rock/Pop Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Howce Clemens brilliantly fuses the sounds of pop, rock, and R&B on his new EP, titled "Each Lifetime Is A Voyage." Clemens' voice throughout the entire album has a musky Johnny Cash vibe to it. That country vocal tone shines through on numbers like "Please Take Care" and "Little Darlin'." Taking a nod from another rocker band fused with country, the Eagles, Clemens delivers a wonderful piece of music with the title track, "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage." The vocal harmonies in the chorus and complementing instrumentation give this track a happy, lighthearted feel. Howce Clemens' "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage" is a great album for any Johnny Cash or Eagles fan looking for a new and fantastic set of tunes.

"Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone (Electronica Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

Imagine if the members of The Cure decided to replace lead singer Robert Smith with a sexy female vocalist. If you can't, then perhaps listening to "Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone will help you see the big picture. Hailing from Los Angeles, the band is fronted by the very talented Jon Mack. Her vocals are filled with tasty lyrics and sex appeal to the max. Just give a good listen to songs like "Auto Erotic" and "A Channel," and listeners will be able to hear her vocals at their best. The band is also very good and is great at changing the style of songs while still keeping that "Auradrone" sound throughout it all. "Indigo Child" is both classic 80's and super erotic at the same time, so be sure to give that track a few spins. If you love The Cure or the sound they represent, give Auradrone's "Whitelite Britelite" a good listen.

"A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" by The Conniption Fits (Pop Artist from Vermont(VT))

Boston rockers The Conniption Fits give a solid performance on their long awaited album of new material with "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective." Hailing from New England, they carry with them the rock sound that many Boston-based bands are known for (which is something mixed between The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Blink-182). Front man Steve Blanchard leads the band through rousing numbers such as "Now I Take My Leave" and "Grit Your Teeth." One of the tracks that stands out the most was "She Just Needs To Go Away," an obvious nod to the late 70's sounds of Cheap Trick. Blanchard has opened for many well-known acts like 3 Doors Down, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Blue Oyster Cult and it shows, as he and the band's maturity and knowledge really help make this album something special. The Conniption Fits' "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" is a great addition to any fan that enjoys the work of Jimmy Eat World or the Boston music scene.

"Ty I Ja" by Carol of Harvest (Pop Artist from Germany)

Carol of Harvest soothes the soul with its newest disc of European pop, "Ty I Ja." Composer and original Carol of Harvest band member Axel Schmierer provides the songwriting for this relaxing disc of dreamy acoustic jazz and pop. His technique is well-represented in songs like "Ty I Ja" and "In Between", a song which also features some tasty lead guitar work. The most notable impression left on listeners is the voice of Polish singer Ewa, whose voice is very refined and angelic. Her vocal performances alone are worth the money for this disc. Be sure to check out the song "Nagi" for one of her finer vocal performances. If pop music fused with an international flair is your thing, you are going to love Carol of Harvest's "Ty I Ja."

"The Temple of Humanity" by Freestone (Rock Artist from The Netherlands)

Looking for something new and different? Then you should give a listen to the album "The Temple of Humanity" by pop/rock band Freestone. This band emulates the cosmic tones familiarized by Pink Floyd and does a great job at reproducing those sounds. "The Ancient of Days" is a mellow song, featuring talented saxophone playing that makes the instrument sound almost as if it is singing. The title track exhibits a relaxing drum beat and equally soothing vocals. The instrumentation on this disc drips of Pink Floyd, with lush synth melodies and haunting guitar work. Although the material of Freestone's "The Temple of Humanity" is rare compared to what is "standard" today, it is a great listen for any Pink Floyd fan or ancient ritual buff and should definitely be checked out.

"The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" by Wes and Victoria (Folk Artist from Colorado(CO))

"The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" by Wes and Victoria is folk rock/Americana at its best and deserves a good listen from any fan of that genre. Originally hailing from Texas, the duo's work has that southern feel and is a great mix of folk, rock, country and good ol' cowboy music. Wes has a very unique singing voice that is particularly raw, letting you feel every note and word he is singing. The harmonica talent of Victoria is well highlighted on songs like "Trail of Tears," and it sounds great. There is also a very welcoming Rolling Stones-influenced number called "Love Got a Mind of Its Own," a song that could easily be compared to anything the Stones did in their best years. For listeners that enjoy folk rock and Bob Dylan, Wes and Victoria's "The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" is definitely worth listening to.

"Mysteriously In Love" by Christopher K. G. Hagadone (Pop Artist from Salt Lake City, Utah(UT))

Christopher K. G. Hagadone dishes out some original electronica music on his newest EP, titled "Mysteriously In Love". The album is comprised of European-sounding dance beats with various rapping/vocals layered on top, making for a very interesting album. Hagadone says on his website that "Mysteriously In Love" is "a CD about a mysterious girl. Who in fantasy is like no other girl." Each song is like a chapter in a book, each telling the story of Hagadone's dream girl through lyrics and intense background music. Two of the four "chapters" that stand out are "Hey You Standing There," describing Hagadone's attempt to flirt with the dream girl, and "I Can't Find Her," a song in which the storyteller awakes from his dream and realizes his fictional girl is gone. This EP is perfect for any electronica fan or someone looking for an album with an underlying story.

"Yes We Can - Obama's Dance Anthem" by DJ Coz (Pop/Electronica Artist from District of Columbia)

DJ Coz has skillfully arranged a patriotic single, "Yes We Can – Obama's Dance Anthem," with grooving dance beats. Coz sends a motivational message of inspiration using selected lines from President Barack Obama's recent historic speeches. There is a great loop effect on the chorus of the song with subtle, yet bouncy synth strings on the verses. Various clips of Obama's speeches are eloquently synced to the rhythmic beats of the drums. "Yes We Can" and "Change is Coming" are just a few of the unforgettable quotes Obama made during his campaign and they will live on forever both in history and in this song. As a skilled artist of the house music genre, Coz has spiked up the mood with this dance single and is a great listen for any house fan or any voter who was won over by Obama's memorable speeches.

Former lead singer of the Main Ingredient, Cuba Gooding, unveiled his stunning single "Never Give Up" at the 2009 presidential inauguration. This spectacular single is not only inspirational but should be considered poetry in musical motion. The lyrics are uplifting and soar straight to the heart. Gooding's vocals are exceptional as they are strong and project emotional expression with an excellent range. There is also some solid support from the orchestra as the violins sustain a sweet touch while the piano maintains nice chord progressions. "Never Give Up" is a magnificent anthem of encouragement and confidence with memorable lyrics of faith and hope.

"The Warm Up" by Nypoleon (R&B/Urban Artist from New Jersey (NJ))

Rising star Nypoleon and his CD "The Warm Up" is an amazing debut filled with soulful R&B and is guaranteed to make a big impact on the music scene. His influences stem from Boyz II Men to Michael Jackson, helping create his unique songwriting which blends old school R&B with Hip- Hop and Reggae. "One Last Time" highlights Nypoleon's smooth vocal performance and his ability to fuse his influential genres, creating a tone that is somewhere between Ne-Yo and Bob Marley. On "Always Be Around," his R&B side shines brightly and once again gives us another standout vocal track. His songwriting is well worth mentioning as it separates him from his contemporaries who just deliver the same old beats over and over again. If you love Usher, Babyface or Kanye West, then "The Warm Up" will be spinning in your CD player for quite sometime.

"Becoming" by Gnos-tel-jah (Rap Artist from California (CA))

Comprised of 2 male vocalists and 1 female vocalist, Gnos-Tel-Jah offers up a psychedelic ride of Hip-Hop fused with rock and spoken word. "Midnight Swang" represents the rap side to their debut disc with easy flowing rhymes and is reminiscent of the group Outkast. When you break it all down, Rap/Hip-Hop is basically spoken words with beats underlying the phrases. The band shows their love for this genre with 13 "chapters" which are 13 separate spoken tracks. Any fan of Outkast, Gnarls Barkley, or of spoken word will thoroughly enjoy "Becoming" as it is a new and innovating CD.

"Bolo!" by Swaha (Spiritual Artist from Ontario, Canada)

Did you ever just want to pop in a relaxing CD at the end of a long day? If so, Swaha's newest CD "Bolo!" is a great choice to soothe your soul. Taking hints of Indian mantras and spiritual music, Swaha does a magnificent job with their newest disc. Vocalists Dave Stringer and Tara MacLean serve up some excellent performances on this CD. The balance of Dave's vocal tone with Tara's angelic pitch is easy on any listener's ears. As for the music, the raga flare sets the mood for some beautiful sounds on songs like "Shiva Manas Puja" and "Jaya Ram Shri Ram." Another great feature of "Bolo!" is the pop sound that is delivered on many of the songs including "Govinda Gopala." Swaha has taken the mantra/Indian genres to a whole different level, fusing India's musical roots with traditional pop instrumentation. "Bolo!" is a perfect listen for anyone who enjoys Indian music fused with spiritual and uplifting textures.

"Excellent Distraction" by Miles Stiebel (Jazz Artist from Washington D.C.(DC))

Notable band leader, Miles Stiebel, proves he is one of the most sought after musicians in his field with "Excellent Distraction." This album is a vibrant mix of emotionally charged jazz instrumentals, covers, and some of Stiebel's originals. Not only is he a well known band leader himself, but the disc was produced by Grammy nominated Bob Dawson and mastered by Grammy winner Ted Jensen (who has also worked with Norah Jones). Stiebel shows us what he does best on "Sir Duke," the first single off the record that strays from the typical jazz progressions and offers up a little bit of funk. Although the violin is not common in most jazz records, Stiebel uses it generously on many tracks such as "Midnight Fifty." The addition of the violin provides a rousing country feel to what could have been just a typical jazz number. Although Stiebel already has many fans, "Excellent Distraction" will be bringing in many more.

"Rockin Blues" by Ramblin Dogs (Blues Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

The Ramblin Dogs energetic three song EP "Rockin Blues," is full of classic 70's/80's blues tone we all love and remember. The first single, "Steppin Up" is a wonderful throw back to the sound of the Fabulous Thunderbirds with some dirty guitar work by Carlos "C-Dawg" DC. "You Let Me Down" also showcases "C-Dawg's" Clapton infused playing and lets us hear the band jam out some soulful, slow tempo blues. Closing out the three single EP is "Worse Without You," a Chicago style blues number with solid chord progressions and guitar driven riffs and solo. The band as a whole is extremely talented, but Carlos' guitar skills stand out amongst anything else on this disc and deserve to be noticed. If you like Clapton or that old school Chicago blues sound, then "Rockin Blues" is a great CD to add to your collection.

"Ugly Beautiful" by Lachi (Pop Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Pianist and songwriter Lachi, ornately blends the sounds of contemporary jazz with early '90's pop/rock with a wonderful result. Don't let the word jazz fool you, "Ugly Beautiful" is more of a pop record than anything else. The small hints of Diana Krall are very nice and fit well within Lachi's songwriting structure. One of those jazzy standouts is "Broke My Heart" which also highlights Lachi's talent for piano playing. The pop influences, a la Alanis Morrisette, come into play on the opening track "We Can Fly." The expression Lachi delivers when singing or speaking her lyrics and the tone of the guitars captures what was once a great time for music, the early '90's. If you are looking for something reminiscent of that period in music or just want to hear some good, female fronted piano rock, then "Ugly Beautiful" is a CD well worth hearing.

"No. 3" by Copper Vein Records (Rock Artist from Michigan(MI))

Copper Vein Record's recent compilation, "No. 3", is an outstanding mix of what the label has to offer. The album is filled with the sounds of new and old and tracks of eclectic styles, including a number of tracks based around acoustic country rock. "Bloom on the Sage" by Mike LaBeau, is one of our favorite songs on the album and hits you with that Rolling Stones (a la 1964) tone. LaBeau's vocals are just as gritty and memorable as Mick Jagger's ever were. For that country feel, look no further than "Dizzy Melissa" by Keith Rintala. His songwriting and instrumentation stands out on this featured number and makes us want to hear more from this artist. If you have been craving some country rooted rock these days then "Dust In Your Hands" by Tom Hood and The Trailmen might be right up your alley. Their lineup of songs sets them apart from most rock acts with the addition of fiddle and mandolin both of which are well blended in the mix. Hood takes on the song "Caught In The Rain" with a very inspired Johnny Cash influence making for a great crossover tune. One of the standout tracks is "Back To The Baja" which features some nice lead guitar work and a bouncy groove that could be heard on any Jimmy Buffett or Traveling Wilburys album.
